<p>Things come in three&#8217;s.  Today it&#8217;s about overwhelm.  Three people today have spoken to me about their state of overwhelm, and its only morning. The feeling may be the same among all three people, yet each has their own expression of overwhelm.</p>

<p>To &#8216;overpower&#8217; or to &#8216;overcome,&#8217; are good ways to describe the feeling.  Something to keep in mind is that overwhelm is <em>self inflicted</em>.  It may be instigated by many things coming at us all at once, but it is in how we handle the deluge of activity or information that is important.</p>
<p>One of the most important things to remember when there is a lot of activity happening is to stop and breathe.  Do you remember being taught in kindergarten how to act if there is a fire?  You STOP, DROP and ROLL.  It is ingrained into our psyche by the time we finish grade school.  It&#8217;s something everyone remembers.  So, use the same thought process for dealing with overwhelm when it happens. <strong> STOP, DROP Everything and BREATHE. </strong></p>
<p>Let me repeat that.</p>
<p><strong>STOP, DROP Everything and BREATHE.</strong></p>
<p>Once you&#8217;ve spent a few minutes breathing, you will have slowed yourself down long enough to think more clearly.  Then start by making a list of things you have to do, get them out of your head.  Put the list in front of you and keep focusing on the fact that you can only do one thing at a time.  Prioritize the list.  What is the most important?  Start there.  Separate your emotional response from the list.  Look at it objectively and see who or what can wait, then move them to the bottom of the list. Then stop and breathe, feel how much easier your breathe comes now.</p>
<p>Just remember the simple steps&#8230; <strong> STOP, DROP Everything and BREATHE.</strong></p>

<p><strong>Empowerment for Highly Sensitive People</strong></p>

<p>In her series of books the author Elaine Aron details the experiences and challenges of the approximately 15-20% of the population who are highly sensitive persons or HSP&#8217;s. We have all seen portraits of these people in films and books. They are usually portrayed as shrinking from the world, being weak, or overly shy and retiring.</p>
<p>According to Aron and others the trait of being an HSP is normal. Your nervous system is just more sensitive to subtleties. Your brain processes this information more quickly and reflects upon it at a deeper level.</p>
<p>As an HSP, you may be overstimulated easier than other people. You may feel more stressed out, overwhelmed and have problems with crowded public areas and social events.</p>
<p>In an increasingly more complex and interdependent world the abilities of an HSP are needed more and more.</p>
<p>The more we are in touch with ourselves, the more we feel our inner desire to know and be who we truly are. We want freedom to live as we are supposed to live, to fulfill our soul&#8217;s potential. When we don&#8217;t we suffer, however that suffering is a hunger for our true selves to live, to be free; it is a message that we want to return to our true nature.</p>
<p>For an HSP to embrace their essential qualities, to open to all of their abilities requires support, skill building and practice.</p>
<p>To empower and support the emotional body of HSP&#8217;s I have used flower essences with great success in my medical intuitive practice.</p>
<p>Flower essences are the vibrational imprint, or etheric pattern of particular flowers or plants prepared in liquid form. You can imagine, as science tells us, that everything &#8211; plants, animals, the Earth, stars &#8211; is made up at its very basic level of vibrations of energy. Then you can also imagine that every flower species has a particular vibration different in some way than any other. The energy of a dark red rose is different than that of a bright white lily in color, form, scent, texture, and so on. These tangible factors are associated with the flower&#8217;s individual vibrational pattern or &#8216;etheric essence&#8217;.</p>
<p>The vibrational pattern of each flower can be &#8216;imprinted&#8217; in pure water through certain preparation methods &#8211; one used most often is the infusing (like making tea) of fresh flowers just picked in glass bowls of spring water sitting in bright sunlight. The water then takes on the etheric vibration of the flower, resulting in what has been termed a &#8216;flower essence&#8217;.</p>
<p>The 2 most used essences for HSP support are Walnut and Yarrow. Flower essences may be found at most health food stores, ordered online from many different vendors.</p>
<p>Walnut Flower Essence is the remedy to help to protect against outside influences in general, and against the effects of change in particular.</p>
<p>Walnut types are people who are fulfilling their purpose in life but who under the influence of the opinions, theories or beliefs of others or of external circumstances in general, may be led to doubt their path.</p>
<p>Yarrow Flower Essence &#8211; As the soul becomes more spiritually open, it necessarily becomes more refined, sensitive, and absorbent. In the past many of those on spiritual paths were removed and protected from the daily conditions of living, so that the soul could safely harmonize and expand its boundaries. Modern conditions require that the path of spiritualization be connected to the physical world and to practical responsibilities.</p>
<p>Using flower essences is easy. Just make a mixture of the essences into a gallon of spring water, and drink often during the day. You don&#8217;t have to drink the whole gallon in one day. When the gallon of water has been used, just make another mixture.</p>
<p>The subtle healing properties of flower essences restore equilibrium on all levels of being: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. They can enhance personal development and are a powerful aid to transformation. They offer us the opportunity to address outworn behavior patterns and negative states of mind which may contribute to or cause disease, emotional imbalance and spiritual disharmony. By stimulating the body&#8217;s inherent ability to heal itself, flower essences restore order from a higher level and help to strengthen desirable or positive qualities such as courage, inner peace, love or acceptance.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On Saturday, June 26th we experienced a Grand Cross Full Moon Lunar Eclipse&#8230; what a mouthful huh?</p>
<p>What does all that mean?  Basically it&#8217;s a full moon that is eclipsed and astrologically, planets also were aligned in the heavens to form a grand cross on an astrological chart for the moment of the full moon.  What it signaled was that things are really heating up for all of us.  I am including a few paragraphs from the Children of the Sun&#8217;s Planetary Grid Transmission that really deliver a wonderful description:</p>
<p>&#8220;The heavenly bodies around our planet are lining up in a giant cross formation and all of  the planets except Neptune play an important role in this dynamic tension.  It will shine a torch upon conflicting energies, opposition and competing priorities, already being played out in personal lives and on the world stage. Numerous astrologers say that this cosmic trigger will be a defining and most critical directional point for humanity and for the planet. &#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;How we respond to the unfolding events, through individual choices and action, casts the anchor for how we transition into our desired new realities. Each act of love and every experience of peace will mold and move this incoming energy into the highest potential for every living thing and atomic particle participating in this sacred Earth experience. Mastering the opposites is key.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;A Grand Cross alignment also urges us to take action. In other words, the time for procrastination and complacency is over. For those awake and attuned, this crescendo of energy offers opportunity to receive renewed inspiration and highly creative solutions in each of our situations. As the break down of old structure continues, the aspects of community, alliances and the ability to work together will become one of our highest priorities.&#8221; (ChildrenoftheSun.org)</p>
<p>The best advice I can give is to take deep breaths.  We are diving deep into transformation and every single one of us will be feeling the changes.  Something that stands out as a theme during these times is that we are being pressed to claim our true being.  We must claim our self.  No longer can we just &#8216;get by&#8217; doing things the same way we have been for years.  We cannot continue forward by giving ourselves away, sacrificing ourselves for the sake of others or by suppressing our true soul desires.  The internal pressure is too great. The result can be physical symptoms such as anxiety attacks, headaches, water retention (from holding yourself back), and upset stomachs.  Never mind the sleeping difficulties that can always play a role during major astrological events such as this grand cross eclipse.</p>
<p>We are being asked to stand up and say, &#8220;I claim my self, my truth and my abilities.&#8221;  Can you do that?  Is it comfortable for you to say, or are there some twinges and a feeling of being on shaky ground as you read this?  It is a time to dive deep within and find yourself. <p>Living a multi-dimensional life means living all your passions, using all your talents and desires to live a fulfilling life.</p>
<p>I have wonderful clients and I love my coaching work.  I also have a wonderful <a href="http://www.scrabbletilependants.com">jewelry business</a> and I love creating.  It&#8217;s important to me to fulfill both those loves. This is usually why my to &#8211; do list can get rather long.</p>
<p>I also have a wonderful relationship, I have a great family and fabulous friends, all of which are also fulfilling to me and are on my &#8216;to &#8211; do&#8217; list.</p>
<p>However, the most important thing on my &#8216;to-do&#8217; list is <span style="color: #000080;"><strong>BEING MYSELF</strong></span>.</p>
<p>I cannot stress this enough.</p>
<p>In order to be truly fulfilled by everything on my list, I must start with being my full self.  I claim the totality of my self.  Can you say that you have done the same?</p>
<p>If you are living your life according to other people&#8217;s wishes, rules, desires, wants, etc&#8230;, then you are not claiming your full self.  Claiming self means being the totality of who you came here to be.</p>
<p>I can say, &#8220;I&#8217;m a life coach, guide others through their ups and downs in life by helping them see their true self and their own life path.  I can also say, &#8220;I create and sell jewelry and I really love it.&#8221; Both statements are true, and yet they are not connected in any way.  However, they are both aspects of my totality.</p>
<p>When you are living a life to please others, cater to other&#8217;s drama and fulfill their rules, are you really living your life path?</p>

<p>Are you rejecting your rewards?  Is there a bounty of untapped abundance waiting to be delivered to you?  There might be.  How will you know if you never validate the gift?</p>

<p>How can you do that?  You can make a list of resolutions, but we all know that those don&#8217;t always last.  I like to make an actual plan instead, something workable and changeable that you can stick with in your overall intentions. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">Plan sections for your health, career, love life, social life and family.  What would you like to create in each of these areas for the upcoming year?  Focus on your end result.  How is it you would like to feel at the end of 2010?  What steps will be required to get you to that feeling?</span></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Thanks to a Twitter post, I came across <a href="http://www.chrisbrogan.com/wiring-yourself-for-success/?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+chrisbrogandotcom+%28[chrisbrogan.com]%29">this great article</a> to assist me with my intentions for &#8216;framing&#8217; my year ahead.  According to the author Chris Brogan, &#8220;&#8230; the object is to come up with three words that you use as compass points for your efforts over the year to come. They’re not resolutions.&#8221;</p>
<p>The difference between these three words and resolutions?  These words are more like guide post, lighting your general direction.  They are active and fluid intentions versus static resolutions that may die out in a matter of a few weeks.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m thinking about my three words.  I think they will be written at the top of my white board.  They will be visible and something I can see everyday.  That should help me follow my intentional words with the energy and actions.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>One of my favorite holiday characters is the Snow Miser.  He&#8217;s been part of the Christmas TV special &#8220;The Year without a Santa Claus&#8221; since 1974 and I&#8217;ve loved him since then.  I know it seems like an odd character for me to love since childhood, but he&#8217;s always stuck with me.  Several years ago on a trip to the Christmas Tree Shop, I found an animated snowman that plays the Snow Miser song and dances.. needless to say I had to purchase it!  Now it&#8217;s a regular part of my holiday decorating.  The children all love him!</p>
<p>This year, I realized that I didn&#8217;t bring him out of the closet where he is stored during the year waiting to emerge for the holiday season.  Why was he forgotten?</p>
<p>As I thought about it, I realized that the concept of the miser was strong in my thoughts in other ways, so maybe I wasn&#8217;t looking for another reminder.  Why is the miser a subject?  Because Christmas is a time for love and family and giving, all the things that the miser is not.  My father passed away just two weeks before Christmas when I was seven years old, and ever since then the holidays are a time of mixed emotions.  I think that&#8217;s why the miser always stuck with me, because there was such loss associated to the holiday.  The miser, as portrayed well in Dicken&#8217;s A Christmas Carol, is driven by the pain of loss, so therefore closes off his heart and withholds love, determine not to share with others.  I&#8217;ve always been the opposite, always giving freely and loving to give gifts at Christmas.  While there is a lot of joy that I have during this time it is always intermingled with the sadness.</p>
<p>Sharing is the key to the holidays, and those who have worked with me for some time will be reminded of the recycle symbol that I refer to when I discuss the concept of the Give &#8211; Receive &#8211; Return which is the Law of Exchange. The miser is the king of withholding.  When any withholding is happening, the cycle is blocked and energy does not flow.  Therefore, there is no giving, but also no receiving or returning of energy.</p>
<p>Look to yourself to see if there is any aspect of the miser at work within.  Are you feeling some Scrooge happening in any area of your life this season?  If so, it&#8217;s a result of withholding.  Keep in mind that withholding of energy is all about protecting yourself from experiencing more loss or sadness.</p>
<p>While I work to really give my joy lots of permission to express, think about that for yourself as well.  Joy is the flip side of the grief coin.  They exist hand in hand in the heart chakra.  Finding balance is the key.  Holding onto the sadness doesn&#8217;t serve anyone, but expressing joy serves everyone.!</p>

<p>The human body is a bio-electrical water machine that requires a quart a day for every 50 lbs of body weight. The blood alone is made up of a large percentage of watery serum. The lymph fluids which transport waste and nutrients, comprising four times the volume of blood in the body, are made from the water we consume. Every cell that makes us who we are literally owes its life to an adequate supply of fresh, clean water.</p>
<p>When the body does not receive a constant, reliable supply of water, it has to ration what is available and cut back on certain functions to make the supply go round. Essential systems like the brain are prioritised, others are impaired or cut back until the brain has decided a reliable source of water has been garnered.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s the rub. Most citizens have become chronically and dangerously dehydrated (especially the elderly), since we decided water was too bland to drink and ignored it in favour of tea, coffee, beer, wine, addictive sodas, flavoured water and other chemical-laced water alternatives. A disastrous and dangerous move for the body and society&#8217;s health in general, to be sure, compounded further since most doctors today cannot readily identify the many water-deficient diseases and associated pains. Thus the underlying dehydration process continues to wreak its havoc while the inevitable drugs given will switch off the warning signals (symptoms).</p>
