Happy 2010! 2010 is a # 3 year numerologically and that means a year of change and optimism. Optimism is a feeling that the change we really want or desire has a good chance of success. Three is also the number of creativity… so an awesome time to get some creative thinking involved in your changes for the year ahead.
How can you do that? You can make a list of resolutions, but we all know that those don’t always last. I like to make an actual plan instead, something workable and changeable that you can stick with in your overall intentions.
Plan sections for your health, career, love life, social life and family. What would you like to create in each of these areas for the upcoming year? Focus on your end result. How is it you would like to feel at the end of 2010? What steps will be required to get you to that feeling?
Thanks to a Twitter post, I came across this great article to assist me with my intentions for ‘framing’ my year ahead. According to the author Chris Brogan, “… the object is to come up with three words that you use as compass points for your efforts over the year to come. They’re not resolutions.”
The difference between these three words and resolutions? These words are more like guide post, lighting your general direction. They are active and fluid intentions versus static resolutions that may die out in a matter of a few weeks.
I’m thinking about my three words. I think they will be written at the top of my white board. They will be visible and something I can see everyday. That should help me follow my intentional words with the energy and actions.
